Account and Data Deletion

This page explains how you can have your account and personal data deleted in the mobile app published as “Motosiklet Borsası” on Google Play and the App Store, and on the motosikletborsasi.com website. The data controller is TR MOTOSİKLET BORSASI TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ.

1. Deleting your account within the app

This is the fastest way; the deletion takes effect immediately and you do not need to send a separate request.

1. Open the app and go to the Account tab in the bottom menu.
2. Select the Delete my account step.
3. On the screen that opens, type SİL (“DELETE”) in the confirmation box.
4. Tap the I want to delete my account button.

If you have an unfinished transaction (an unresolved bid, an ongoing payment or a transport that has not been delivered), deletion is blocked for security reasons and you are shown a message explaining why. You can try again once the transaction is completed.

2. Deleting by sending a request

If you cannot use the app or would like to apply in writing, you can request deletion of your account through one of the channels below. Requests are resolved within 30 days at the latest.

Sending your application from the phone number or email address registered to your account speeds up the verification of your identity.

3. Data that is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your first name, last name, email address, province and district; your phone number is disassociated from the account.
• All your published and draft listings, and the files of the photos you uploaded to those listings.
• Your favourites and saved searches.
• Your identity and phone verification records.
• Your notification preferences and in-app notification inbox.
• Notification tokens of your registered devices — no notifications are sent to you after deletion.
• All your open sessions are ended and your session keys are revoked.

After deletion, your phone number becomes available for opening a new account; if you sign up again, you will go through verification from the start.

4. Data that is not deleted and retention periods

The following records are retained even if your account is deleted, due to our legal obligations and to prove completed transactions. These records remain linked to an anonymous account record that no longer identifies you.

5. Deleting part of your data without deleting your account

You can also remove part of your data yourself within the app without closing your account:

• You can delete your listing photos one by one.
• You can take your listings down.
• You can delete your favourites and saved searches.
• You can delete your in-app notifications and turn off your notification preferences.
• When you withdraw notification permission or uninstall the app, your device notification token is deleted.

For your other data, you can submit a deletion or destruction request under Article 11 of Law No. 6698 through the channels in section 2.

6. What you should know before deleting

• Deletion cannot be undone.
• Your unused token balance is cancelled and is not refunded.
• Your published listings are taken down and deleted; bids received on those listings become invalid.
• The session information and recent searches stored on your device are deleted from your device when you log out of the app or uninstall it.
